A wish

“It was like I was handed a new life, it is like getting two new legs.”

In the evening, the neighborhood boys often ran past 16-year-old Martin’s house.  Living with muscular dystrophy, his scooter was too old and slow to keep up with them. His wish a new scooter, gave him the speed and freedom to keep up his with friends. Not only can he spend time with his friends, but he also can go to school on his own.

“The wish means that he will have a new zest for life and hope amidst the struggles of his illness. It allows him to feel normal,” says Martin’s Mom.
